Thank you Shooter50
What a story! One thing I have noticed in common amongst all the Raj days shikar stories. Be it Corbett, Anderson or any other, the flow of their writing is so smooth. No highfalutin words just simply written and while reading, one gets the impression that that one is watching a movie.

Incidentally I was around the same region a week ago. More so towards Suhagpur though. The guy must've been a super shot to risk a human being sitting in the open to get a Tiger...of all things. Indeed makes an interesting reading never the less.

agree wth marksman nice read and its a great area lived near it and passed through Hoshangabad and Betul amazing scenery..but shooting at a tiger who was chasing a girl right after it had killed a cow ...it seems interesting but then every one to their own

Beautifully written, simple crisp prose. Easily the best that i have read written by an Indian. All shikar authors - Jim Corbett, Kenneth Anderson, JH Patterson included do pad it up a little. An hunting story is all about the setting and the chase. The kill is over in an instant!!
