True solitude can be found a bit off season in the Tirthan Valley and Great Himalayan National Park. Starting at Gushaini I went on a three day trek into the park and another two days around. here is a photoblog of the week I was there. Rather than just a blog in prose, it is sometimes better to do a photoblog of a trip. after all remember that a picture is worth a thousand words!!! In the Great Himalayan National park, I was carrying my Fujifilm X T-10 MLC with a 18-55mm zoom. Trekking with a camera is an absolute delight.

Lanceman,
That was delightful.
I'm jealous, jealous, jealous.
This brings back so many memories.
The scenery, the flora and fauna! Muy Excelente, Senor!
...and little Anjali, what a cutie. You couldn't have had better company to the waterfall and back.
Your photography, sir has excellent composition and framing. Every photo is appealing.
I think this is the best post on your blog to date.
I've already looked it over twice. Will have to spend more time on it when I get home.
Enjoyed the "People of Tirthan Valley" too.
Our Hill folk are a very handsome people.

I would request you to start writing travelogues.
You blog is a pleasure to read! I could feel the pain in my knees from hiking for 4 hours and the shortness of breath at altitude when I read your piece.

truly off the beaten trek, pure unadulterated nature.
a glimpse of the monal pheasant would have been welcome, amazing place for birding.
