Our plant is about a hundred yards from the Minnesota River so I often go there during my lunch break.

A beautiful day on the banks of the Minnesota River

In these idyllic surrounding, I turned on my phone and read through your entire blog, during lunch today.
I must say it was a great experience; smoking a cigar by the river and reading about your travels.
Thanks for giving me one of my best lunch breaks in a long time.
Your experiences in Sri Lanka made for fascinating reading.
Looking forward to many more of your travelogues.

LOL, as you have found out from my posts, I believe I have a case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) too.

XL, my friend I suspect we are both GAS-bags. I have enough gear and counting, to take me trekking into half my next life! In this life, for the present, I plan a trip to the Valley of Flowers next month and to Goechala (near kanchendzonga base camp) early next year.
I am a passionate photographer, abstract and wildlife, also pictorial chronicles of my wandering, should that interest you here's a link:

If you find the pictures attractive, read the narrative along each.

PS. You won't find pics of family on picnic or munna's last birthday party. All taken during my travels

Great photos, truly!
I haven't finished looking at all of them yet.
The Heritage Mumbai section brought back a lot of memories. My School (Cathedral), my sister's college (Elphinstone)... all those great old Gothic buildings in Mumbai that were a part of my childhood.
I'm afraid that we took a lot of them from granted then.

Hello Xerxes,
Simply breathtaking photographs (I don't dare call them pics!) and lucid rendition covering both incidents & antecedents of the magnificent places visited & experienced by you merits to be converted into a "Coffee Table" tome!

There's more to be said - which I would rather do in the cozy confines of my club in the presence of our august friends ad-mist sipping tall cool frothies & munching some delectable kebabs!!!!

Being an avid photographer & writer of sorts myself ....I salute you!!!

Keep them coming Xerxes :D
Briha

I join XL & Brihaji... a big salute, Sir!

Can the next Mumbai CMG outing have a slide show of these photographs along with the man himself giving expositions in his inimitable manner?

Lanceman,

I have a request.
When you do these hikes could you post some photos of the actual trails so we get a better idea of what is involved?
I think other trekkers will be looking for information like that.
I know you did that in your table mountain article but I don't see it in some of the others.
Thanks,
