Hunting in Romania

Dear all,

I am planning a shooting excursion to Romania in the second week of September. It will be wild boar and a lot of small game - partridge, pheasant, duck, quail etc. Probably four nights as one can take a Lufthansa from Delhi to Frankfurt and then direct connection to Bucharest. Then drive four hours to the final distination.
Presently I am working out the logistics with a friend ( a non-shooter) who travels to Romania on business regularly. I have visited several web sites so there is something to go by.

Any advise or "do's" and "dont's" will be welcome. If any one has done this trip can you please share your experience and comment on the costs roughly so that we dont get misled.
Thanks

I would suggest posting the same on www.accuratereloading.com 's European big game hunting board.Lots of people from Europe who hunted there. You would get a lot of info. And when you finish your hunt, please share the details and pics with us.Good hunting brother.

Thanks Vikram.
Will do.
Next week I am scheduled to try out the trap shooting range in Berlin. Goes by the name Shooting Club Diana. Nobody understands any English there and had a lot of difficulty getting through on phone. Had to use a German friend to get introduced. IFG memebr Ranjit from Bangalore had mentioned these are really "German German " places so a bit difficult to penetrate. My German should be good enough to get a few rounds of trap. Lets see. Will keep the members posted of the experience.

Hey Space...

make sure you pronounce the name "Deeyaana" and not "dainaa" just kidding  ...and happy hunting in Romania. Actually while I was in Munich i had befriended a few people who used to hunt small game in Romania....September should be a great time for wild boars..Don't know the exact expenses...don't want to hazard guesses here..but still..AFAIK, they are pretty reasonable..but the person I know ends up in a drinking session there, instead on hunting...

Cheers
