Furqan,

That is not hunting. That is live pigeon shooting.Today's Trap shooting evolved from this.A pigeon is released from a trap and is shot. That pigeon is replaced with a clay pigeon today.Live pigeons were used in 1900 Olympics.

Live pigeon shoots are legal in a good few states in US,in Spain if I am not wrong, and in South America.Try googling live pigeon shoots and Colombaire where a person releases them manually .In some shoots, a pigeon is a given a very mild shock before the trap is released which makes it's flight faster and unpredictable.

That video is probably a work of an organisation against pigeon shooting.

Almost all the pigeons are caught in urban areas like cities and towns where they are usually classified as vermin/pests which otherwise would have been trapped and culled, often by poison.Let me add that no one is going to eat those pigeons as due to their urban habitat, many carry a lot of diseases and and also harmful chemicals.

Live pigeon shooting is not for the average man.It is for those with lots of money as huge money is rotated on bets and prizes.

I write all this not to support or denounce what is in that video but provide a complete picture, to the best of my abilities, about what it was not saying.

I completely disapprove of leaving that wounded pigeon flapping about like that. The least they could have done was to put it out of its misery.

Best-
Vikram

Yes they are against pigeon shooting and many have secretly filmed the shooting and your right this is for the riches.
I am against it since they are just killing it there are some ethics when hunting game which doesn't seem to be seen here.

While I have never participated in any sort of canned shoot, and suspect I never ever will, I do notice the title of this video directs you to a website "PAshame.com" (PA is the abbreviation for the state of Pennsylvania) . I suspect the purpose of the website is to get people upset so they can ask them for money and for that reason any videos/literature they produce is designed to create fear or anger (and ultimately revenue) and not for the purpose of enlightening and educating mankind.
