Article in daily mail:

Is this really fun for all the family? The giraffe hunters who pay £10,000 to shoot the gentle giants with guns and bows for sport

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z1rLh5kD6g

The anti brigade does it again.
Notice how cleverly the words of the founder of the giraffe conservation are placed between the list of pics. How he clearly states that countries that allow giraffe hunts have increased populations of these animals and how the money from the hunt helps communities. He also states that the reasons for decreasing populations is habitat destruction and removal of wildlife corridors.

then when he talks about poachers, (NOT hunters) and that reduces population , its put in the last para. Again the only negative thing he says about hunters is about bad shot placement but equates that statement immideately saying the PH ends the suffering.

See how these wordings and pics change the whole message and the website is bombarded with antihunting comments

There nothing much can be done with these people. UK is basically sunk under the iansa pressure and people have accepted a lot more than just gun controls . Freedom meant nothing to them any more and civil liberties are for papers only. There were times when they left their comforts and rise to challenges of German oppressors but so long gone those days. Same thing with Indian people , they never got over centuries of foreign rules. People never realize how much power they hold . Single person just proved in Egypt that how much can be changed without firing a single shot , Gov'ts could be brought down . Good luck - Haji

Hammerhead youre spot on.
You have no idea how politically incorrect guns and hunting are over here. I'm almost embarrassed to tell people about my passions.

The sun did an "expose" of EJ Churchill with hidden cameras. They posed as rich businessmen and approached the safaris asking for a quote and then sensationalised the news of how they "exposed" EJ Churchill hunting safaris and how they organised killling holidays for the rich. At the end of the documentary they made one statement that what they (safari) were doing was legal. So why the hidden cameras?
You can view the video on my blog.

But whats worse is that i wrote to churchill people saying they have my support and that what happened was wrong and i am a hunter etc etc. Never even got a reply back.
If the hunters dont stick together, why will the antis not have a field day.

In the words of Edmond Burke: The only thing necessary for the triumph of the antis is for hunters to do nothing.

Come on guys, if you take dailymail.co.uk seriously you'd crap enough bricks to build a bunker. You should have seen their 'dangerous' EDL members with "baby skull seeking Teflon infested hollow brain full platinum plated cop killing assault boolits firing full auto air sniper rifle" article.

priyan if anyone potrays hunting falsely, I take it seriously and so did those 750 people who wrote to say hunting is bad. Several others read it and were unable to comment as the website suspended furthur comments. Since you live where hunting is banned, you will not understant how media influenced public perception can damage hunting. They have banned fox hunting and every few years some game birds are added to "protected" list. If the trend continues, soon we will lose all hunting.

Your satire is very humourous but is still minimalising the fact that thousands of people read such news and believe it and the amount of damage it causes the sport.

I know you are more into guns and not into hunting but be aware that guns and hunting are closely related and if india had legal hunting the arms situation would have been different.

It is sad that such a fine sport was banned in that country.
For a fox hunter the sport was not just killing a fox but much more than that. It was more of a social event where the hunters spent "quality" time with his family and friends out in the country side. I particulary admired the way the riders dressed , their horses and the dogs and all the "bandobast" which went with the hunt. I think the Brits have lost a part of their culture with this ban.

P.S. : Have also wondered how many
animals (fox) were killed every year
in these hunts. I won't be surprised
when they actually become vermin in
the years to come.

On a side note .

Deer and all other animals in North America ( Canada and US ) have killed more people in car accidents , truck accidents and vise-verse Automobiles have killed more Deer and Moose THAN HUNTERS.

This trend has continuous last few years from 2008 to now - Haji
