The guy literally blew the head off of that turky, i think thats a bad shot, may be something to learn from it
Ali saheb, This is the second time. Please be considerate with your language.
Now as for the shot, it is a very good shot and a very humane one.He shot the head off so that he or his wouldn't have to chew on lead or copper plated turkey shot while munchig on it.Also, turkeys are tough birds and to get through those feathers ... That's the reason turkey loads are more powerful than say your grouse loads. The twiching one sees is a reflex. The bird was already dead.A good shot in deed.

Yep, poor shooting - he/ she should have lined them up and gotten both!
BTW - pardon my ignorance, but don't they usually shoot turkeys on the wing?
Cheers!

Abhijeet, Turkey are like chicken, flightless. They are not usually shot on wing.

Ah-ok... thanks for clearing that one up Vikram. But if they are indeed taken on the ground, then there were at least 2 opportunities in that video when both were lined up quite nicely and IMHO could have been had with a single shot...
Cheers!

Abhijeet,
I am not sure about this but there is probably a limit on the number of gobblers one can bag in a season.
Cannot see the video though so cannot comment on the possibility.

sa_ali,
Are you trying to defy what another moderator posted in your first post?
I'd be careful about being cheeky, especially when tempers are running hot.

hi
I didnt knew that the tempers go high on posts, nor i knew that the word of the moderators are last words not to be challenged.
Lastly this was nothing scientific or universal rule which we were debating, this was a casual post for entertainment. If there is issue with presenting our own views then pls let me know, i was mearly trying to give other some thing to see and njoi.

Ali Saheb, Mack The Knife is reffering to the use of foul language in your post that another moderator had pointed out to you earlier as not being acceptable!
And to answer your question - YES! The word of any moderator here is THE LAW. If you find this unacceptable, please do not post here any more.
The moderators here are volunteers who contribute their time - to help out the shooting/ enthusiast community in India, without any personal benefit to themselves. If you cannot respect the value of their time and continue to make posts which require them to needlessly spend additional time cleaning up after you, they you are being especially inconsiderate, besides being in violation of several of the site rules.
If you have not read them yet - please take the time to read the site rules, if you feel you cannot abide by them, then you are advised to find a site which is more accommodating to your tastes.
Thanks,
Abhijeet

Since you are unable to undestand what I was refering to, let me spell it out for you. If a moderator requests you, politely, not to use swear words don't defy him by doing just that.
Have I made myself clear?

Ali, nothing about challenging Mod's words. You can as many times as you want provided the debates are on topics posted. Not on disciplinary issues.
You were very gently cautioned to mind your language.Too many 'F' words etc. You can express yourself well without them. The forum wishes to be a safe place to visit for ladies and young people, and they visit us regularly, too.We don't set a good example with such language.Do we? Fun yes sir by all means.Nothing was said of the post per say.We even discussed the shots and turkeys etc.Only your language. Rule#
2 clearly states that "No Profanity! If you would not say it to your Mother or Grandmother, don't say it here."
Have fun. But, please remember that you are cautioned now sufficiently.Look forward to no more such expressions from you.
