Hi Friends,
Took some time off this Sunday from the family to go for some geese as I had recently bought my Stoeger M2000. Thanks to Shooter about his advice as to how you shoot is important rather than having the most expensive gun and not able to shoot, I Bagged 3 Aleutian Canada geese in 2 hours. It was fun. This farmer have left 30% of his land for the birds, he just leaves this as it is and does not interfere with nature which I like. More pictures to come....

Good show 357 S&W.
Take some cooking recipes from Shooters as well. He is not only a good shot but a great cook as well.
Elsewhere in one post we were talking about how hunting (not poaching) helps in conservation.
This is an ideal example.
The farmer has left one third of his farm for the birds, simply because he earns money from hunting. Had there been a complete ban on hunting , he would drain out the wetland and utilise it for cultivation.
Loss of habitat = No geese on the farm.
At the expense of some geese . He is saving many others. This is real conservation.
Wildlife conservation can be successful only if you take the local community into confidence and work with them. How can we expect to save the Tiger or the Leopard when the animal does not have enough food in our jungle . Forced to feed on domestic animals , the farmer out of frustration poisons the bait. Many years ago I saw a snap in a news paper (TOI) of a tigress(in the prime of youth) and her three cubs (near Corbett) dead near the carcass of a cow which she had killed and which had later been poisoned by the locals with arsenic. What a loss to the nation.

You are welcome. It was in the 50's (F), lots of fog and it took a while to burn off. The goose were coming in when we called but would not come closer as they were worried about the fog as they cannot see anything on the ground and would not land.

Thank you, Stoeger M2000 is going great. Can't wait for the weather to get nasty as it is very good time to hunt the geese.
