It's not the geese that I would be going over to have a gander at. ;)

What about ones in the (sorry) condition below?

Are those decoys ? They look more like a set of table ornaments.
Are there any trade labels on them ? And do they float ?
If they really are decoys there`s a good few quids worth on show.
By the way, the condition looks pretty good - repainting is comparitively easy.

These are best to be shot with an air rifle. Will give plenty of thrills to 9 year olds.

Decoys that you shoot at ? That`s an interesting concept - presumably to drive the real Ducks/Geese away ?

Nope, no labels of any sort; but yep - they can float... The construction is all wood, and some of them have cracks in their wooden body... the wings have a copper sheet covering, the beaks, eyes, neck rings and trim on the wings looks like brass... The full set was 4 large ones and 6-7 small ones... but besides the ones above, the rest were either broken or termite eaten or (one case) both...

They cost me nothing anyway, was just curious if they had any value at all... maybe able to pick up some more in a few weeks time (different designs), lessee...

Cheers!

Grab all that you can - they are definitely worth money !

I`ve seen evidence of termite damage - a pair of Rodda double rifles that were `cased` in a purpose made chest, which originally had four short legs. It arrived in the UK via South Africa and then promptly collapsed into a pile of dust. The pair had been separated some time ago when they were bequeathed to different sons.....or maybe grandsons, anyway, the termites had the stock of the one that made it to the UK as well.
