That croc looks well provided for.Fat.An occasional wild pig perhaps,apart from the staple fish?

Thanks Yaj. What I'd really like to do is fish for these blighters after dark. I tried a few minutes of this and it really sharpens your senses. The baitcaster is feathered by sound as you cannot see the lure and I was pretty pleased with how I have adjusted to this type of reel. Roll on the 15th.

Sorry Vikram, missed your post above.

There is a sizeable pig and small deer population at Forbes and I have heard of crocs pulling in pigs but I have yet to see this happen.

Never tried baitcasters myself.Had any problem with bird's nests?

Once in a while but nothing that cannot be resolved quickly. It happens when I forget to adjust the brake setting when casting a light lue (3/8 oz. Mepps Agila No. 4) into the wind.

People make a big deal out of it. Come to think of it, most people I fish with have more 'birdsnests' with their spinning reel than I do with the baitcaster. Try one.

HI All, yup, am able to zip along on broadband now, no hairy encounters with any critters, except the flathead and the mackerel-the tides and my working hours didnt match...seemingly settled in , lets see next weekend, am visiting a friend down south and we 've planned a day on the water at a nearby dam-impoundment fishing its called here.Will carry a rod /reel/tackle box-we've been on the phone a coupleof times and he's having good results with 'gulp'

we are going to use his digicam, i cant find power cord...and its a fair bet atta with haldi, hing and jeera will tickle the palate of the barra here ;)
