Brings back some wonderful memories from florida.. gators, airboats, gunranges wall mart gunsections etc etc. The southern states are a sportsman's heaven. I spent 5 formative years of my life in florida attending flight school and college. Saw a lot of wild life(including manatee's), fishing canoeing but never shot gators. Do recall siting em on roads and at one occasion there was one lil gator that snuck into a big lake in our apartment complex through the water drain/sewage system and me and my roommates one night played around with him and teased him with a chicken tied onto a fishing rod. We did fool him and played with him but in the end he got the better of us and took the chicken away.

As far as the skin goes, a nice pair of Shoes, a fancy Belt and a sleek Wallet would be the order of the day!
Don't forget that it would make a real nice matching holster and belt.

hi gents getting the whole gator mounted.
I know i live in a tiny pad but it was my first gator so going the whole 9 yards (or shall i say 11 feet).

Yup ate the meat.
Had nice pics of me BBQ ing it and cooking 'Bhoona gosht magarmach' but all gone with the camera.

There are a few more small titbits and will write as soon as i get the time.

I am glad people liked it.

Congratulations! Great story and writeup.
To add to Timmy's snooze story, worked with a fellow who related the story, how when 17 and working for a roofer, he was introduced to chewing tobacco. It was an abysmally hot day, and he kept going down the ladder for a drink of water. Finally the boss told him wasn't being paid for going up and down the ladder for water, but to keep the roofers supplied with shingles. Replied that his mouth was getting dry all the time in this heat, and he was afraid of getting a heat stroke. Boss told him he ought to do what all the others were doing do avoid the mouth getting dry, chew tobacco. So he accepted the offered chew. It helped. But after a while his mouth got too full of saliva/tobacco juice, and not having been warned, he swallowed.
In a flash the world around him started to turn green, and his headed started to spin. When he woke up twenty minutes later, on the lawn, wit a terrific headache, all he could remember was getting sick and heading for the ladder.
There obviously is a long learning curve to this habit. Never could figure out how some of the "champs" can have some tobacco in the cheek, be chewing on a cigar on the other side of their mouth, and drink coffee. All at the same time.
Sorry to go completely OT.

Thanks for sharing your experience; it reminded me of my first hunt in Louisiana 12 years ago for the agitator, it is such a thrill you live it every time it cross your mind.
