Get me the exact pharmac specs of the injection and I can tell you exactly.As far as I know there is nothing of that sort which has to be given by injection and cannot be supplemented orally. I would go so far as to say you can avoid the injections till we know more.

No I am afraid it will not work. Supplement with the advised Chondroitin sulphate,glucosamine,vit C and see that exercise is adequate but guarded and reassess at age 2yrs. If you can find a place where he can swim at least twice a week it will help tremendously since it will strengthen supporting muscles,keep him in shape without damaging the joints.Avoiding climbing stairs as much as possible.
