Yup I agree - they are slightly heavier than usual but absolutely rock on in terms of accuracy. I usually get 1 inch groups at 100 mts very consistently - the .223 is great with Highland ammo - 55 grains. Dont know if the .223 is a PB in India - it a cheap and accurate round here in NZ as it is what is know as a military round and quite often we can get cheap military surplus rounds of it.

You want more gun control? Use both hands!

Hi Oggie - do you know any good hunting outfitters in NZ that have a good reputation.
Many thanks!

Hi Kragiesardar, my apologies - did not log in for ages. Yes I do go out with a few operators from here and they are all quite good. Depends on what you intend hunting etc. Let me know if you are looking at a trip - might be able to cook something up !

Hello again mate. Red deer are not a problem. Bush in NZ is usually quite tight so its either bush stalking them or glassing the tops that is the usual technique. Red's are not as cunning or flighty as Sika so are reasonably easy to get. Reds are also available throughout the country. Now Thar on the other hand are a real challenge my friend ! Being a mountainous creature its usually gotten by tjose hunters that exceed its altitude and shoot at it from above. Not an easy task ! You will need to be extremely fit to have a crack at a Thar. Its certainly not for the faint hearted ! Most Thar hunting is done in the south island. What's your fitness level at ? Say on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is a marathon runner.

-10 :D . Watch them on TV flying via chopper to the top of a mountain and hunting off it. Very rough terrain.
Warm regards,
