Is it illegal to kill vermin (rats) in cities? - That can be a local hunting :-)

No idea, shootinf rats comes under pest control I guess. They destroy agricultural grains to a huge proportion, what does our lady Maneka have to say on this not sure, perhaps she wants Indians to gather all the rats / mice and leave it at her doorstep.

They used to be on Schedule V (Vermin - no licence required to kill) of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. However, I am not sure if they still are.

IIRC rodents destroy almost 50% of ALL FOODGRAINS produced in India!!! :shock: :evil:

oh yes and i do recall Menaka sayin that Cows should not be milked too. Now how will the countrys milk demand be met - i wonder :-)

What BS! I recall she had problems with the snakebite serum production unit in Pune too.Reminds me of this episode in South Park about stupid animal lovers.

Bandicoots are a common pest at farms and are known to siphon off food grains.Don't see any harm in killing them.There's a certain community of people in Karnataka who smoke them out of their holes and eat them!

She was saying that people should stop drinking milk because calf is left hungry.. that is one of the vegan concept.... :roll:
