A trek to Paradise - Valley of Flowers and Hemkund
Recently I realised a dream of many years, to trek to the Valley of Flowers. It surpassed all my expectations and I enjoyed every moment of the trek. This blog is intended to be a palette of flavours rather than a technical treatise. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone may have and give guidance to a prospective trekker.

there are a few pictures here, however for more detailed photographs of the flowers I saw, please see my Flickr site

I had also put this link in an earlier post.
Enjoy the reading as much as I enjoyed the trek.

That was a very detailed description of your trek. I really enjoyed it almost as much as you would have enjoyed the actual trek. I have certain queries like is a safe parking available for cars?? Is there any place to stay in the actual VoF. The Gurudwara's probably wouldn't have some decent 'English' style toilets.

Safe pay parking available upto 4 km ahead of Govindghat.
No one is allowed to stay in VoF overnight. You have to stay in Ghangaria, 6 km away.
Ghangaria has moderately decent hotels, and the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam has a good tourist Rest House. Including English toilets!

I almost felt as if I was trekking with you, sir! Great narrative, as usual!
Cheers!
