No probs.Open fishing in Govt canals, no hassles with anyone. If there is a contractor, he may allow fishing for 5-10 rupees per rod.and gives a receipt too.

My kit Shakespeare Ugly Stik Lite Spinning Rod SP1170-2M, SHIMANO SIENNA FB SPINNING REEL 4000FB , Berkley Trilene Big Game Line 1/4 Lb Spool
Will stick with plain vanilla but since the water is Hudson and Long Island sound probably need a salt water fishing rod probably 9 ft

Cheers

Wow, that sounds very familiar.I may have a twin of that rod ... sounds good, whats the line capacity? like how many lbs breaking weight ?1/4 lb spool is the quantity.

yup, see if you can get a fibre telescopic rod? should'nt be as steep as a graphite/kevlar rod.Best bet would be to ask the STEVE mentioned on the web page...but fish have been caught on a line and hook and rod ;)

Please match rod / line and reel breaking weights or specs .A mismatch may cost you a broken rod/stripped gears , whatever!
