Hunters help conserving wild life?

Post by conty1 » Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:31 pm

The current National Geographic has an excellent article on how the hunters are helping pay for and sustain the wild life in the United States.

Here is the online version:

And the pictures for the same story:

A 'must' read!

Cheers,
Amit

Not late at all "shooters".
I have news that you have just got back from a fantastic hunting trip (from U.S.A.).
I believe you shot a massive magarmach and some wild boar there.
Lets hear the story.

The great irony is that many species might not survive at all were it not for hunters trying to kill them.
I was never fond of music. These words above from the article do sound real good. Is this the sort of joy people get when they listen to their favourite album?

thanks xltarget for the link

The trouble with indian wildlife conservationists is that they have a "holier than thou" attitude by equating and adopting 'ahimsa' as a viable conservation ideology. They see hunting and hunters as a part of the problem and refuse to accept their possible contributions as a solution to the problem. Theirs is an utopian world of exclusiveness and rejection of all kinds of violence. They have total control of the indian wildlife conservation scene and refuse to accept their failure. Their stubborness and stupidity has led us to this unacceptable level of destruction of wildlife and their habitat. As the song goes.. when will they ever learn??

Hey Shooter, c'mon spill the beans.
well its true and i also shot a corsican ram with double curl. I had planned to do a write up for all the forums i am a member on but on the way back i lost my camera :( (either in the airport in america/london or in the flight or in the tube back home) i was hoping to get it in lost and found however no report yet.

I only have a few pics taken by my friend who has sent them to me. I do not consider myself a wizard of penmanship so a bit reluctant to write a thousand words in lieu of each pic.

Jonah,
You summed that up very succinctly. Kudos to you.

C'mon mate, just waiting to hear all about it. Nothing wrong with your penmanship as far as I can tell.

Hey Shooter,
I am as excited as dejected for you at the same time. I hope you liked your trip up here and judging by the animals you have harvested I believe you were either in Texas or Florida, I will wait for your write up and whatever pictures are left with you. I am sorry for your loss of the camera...but hey you had a good time and I guess that matters most. So cheer up and give us your insight of your hunts here in the US.
