The Ibex are known for their ability to handle those steep mountains with ease.But, this video puts their ability in perspective. :shock:

Please also note the habit typically seen in many herbivores:

Leave the abundant green succulent grass in easily accessible places and go for a few tufts in an inaccessible place.

While that may be usually correct, in this case, they are attracted to the salt on the rocks in the dam wall.

In my native place , at the foot hills of the westen ghats,Old time veteran hunters always extol about their experiences of shooting Nilgiri Thar or Varai Aaddu in Thamizl ( Varai means a vertical rock, Aadu means goat.)This is a common sight in our area,But due to the lack of such photographic exposure, our Ibex or Thar is not sung about.
