HONOURARY MEMBERS OF TIME WASTERS CLUB

Hi There,
A lot of members would agree with me and possibly would be in favour of starting a list of honourable time wasters.
This way we would be in a position to know whom we should entertain and to whom we should give banking details.
There is a breed of such people who act very desperate to clinch the deal will ask you to send banking details and then there is ghostly silence from their side.On being contacted they say they will be transferring money online. On being contacted again to confirm deposit in account they say out of station(as if money cant be transferred online from an indian city or from any palce out of india.
I wouldnt want to name that person on the forum.
This the 3nd time this particular person has taken details from me with the promise to deposit money and then hasnt bothered to respond to my call or txt msg.
I am very fortunate not to loose anything as i have a very basic account with no NET/MOBILE banking facility.
Not that i am or was desperate for his deal to be finalised, just want to WARN other members to be very alert and aware of such people and also that they should maintain a seperate account for forum dealings which has no internet misuse faclities.

Such elements sow the seed of mistrust among members of the forum. They need to be isolated and identified for the common good......hh

Sanjay Bhai,
Come to rajapur(ratnagiri) will help you buy land at prices you wont believe or have ever heard of.Then you wont talk of two acres at worli.
Give me your fax number i will fax you the amount that you want to withdraw in 1000rs notes,or rather i fax you a blank cheque with which you use to withdraw cash.Dont forget to carry photo ID.

Hi Happy Hunter,
What you said is absolutely true.
If they dont have the intention to buy something why approach the seller in the first place.
Not everybody has time to waste.
This particular guy first approached me for a blankfirer than for a walther orignal scope and now for some pellets.
On all three occasions bank details were taken in urgency,as if that was the only thing on his mind. And then the flimsy excuses that are given are never heard of.Not to forget the TALL talk of strong connections in high places at the delhi airport.
Maybe its part of his buying tactics.Confirm something with a seller then back off, that way you may extort a discount from seller.A sort of forced distressed sale.
The forum is better off without such people.
Can the MODS do something about such people.

Last I checked, the mods had ONLY a 6th sense, because there were no signs of the other 5!
Would help if you tell them...
and as Naga advised, keep a faltu a/c for such transactions, not connected to your main a/c.
I dont think IFG would like to be involved in your actual trading-please do remember, IFG gives you a space to post/buy/sell etc, FOR FREE, no more.
All liabilities are between parties to the acts...
BUT as good manners go, it would help if 'tyre kickers' stay away. I guess the 2 strike and you're out rule should come in here.2 complaints and you're OUT

Hi eljefe,
I never said that IFG should be involved in the actual trading.
What i said was that could/should IFG do something to keep away such people (who have nefarious intentions)from the forum.

i do not think the forum is able to do anything as when members join they do not inform the mods of their malpractice. nor can the mods read what one may do next week.
one hopes and believes that members are honest and would do the right thing.

Why do I get this feeling that all those in favour are the ones who are using this forum merely to sell their stuff and have nothing else to contribute.
IFG is not a shop. How about black listing members who post goods for sale and then do not respond to members queries?I am sure there are some who do that. How about the post in which a dealer/member had posted about a Remington BDL for sale and then did not respond.
How about throwing out commercial sellers?

Absolutely agree with you, WTP
There are many here with post count=0 coz they only post in sales section
BTW I propose a club for extra charging sellers also who advertise things at exorbitant prices then have cheek to start threads to complain about tire kickers
If you try to sell your wares at those kinds of prices then you should only worry about tire kickers what IFG have to do with it? You are given a facility to sell your wares for free, you want IFG to take care of your dealings also? What do you think IFG has taken “theka” to run your shop?
Take care of your dealings yourself and if a deal goes sour complain to webmaster at the rate indiansforguns.com, member will be asked for a clarification and if found guilty will be punished accordingly. Do not expect anything more.

Hi Nagarifle,
Totally agree with you.Problem arises when it becomes a pattern of a certain person collecting banking info.
That is what i am trying to put across.

My suggestion:
The Mods should think about putting a minimum post requirement (say 100/200 posts) before the selling privileges are bestowed upon on members.

i agree that there are few who seems to be collecting banking info, i have the same done to me few times, hence have a trading account with min balance at any time to overcome any malpractice, goods should only be despatched once the cash is in etc.
