Here is a little tale about a couple of women who are probably very glad they had a handgun in the apartment -- of course, the police didn't arrive in time to stop this guy:

Woman didn't know shot intruder was neighbor

Just shows that anything can happen anytime expectantly or unexpectedly.. Better be prepared than sorry..
