I guess my point was that carrying a handgun is a big responsibility and it can have life changing consequences if you do have to use it.
The idea is to avoid having to use it if at all possible.
As Safarigent says; run away if you can.
if possible sure, but then there will be no gun fight in first place. if it happens, then all you have to do is to recognise the patern and aplly rules. Knowing what exactly you going to do is much more important in gun fight, then considering after effects.
even if you going to run, then you need to know how. If you going to run by streight line, you are dead.

run if you can,should be the choice.gun fight is good to watch in a movie, not in real life.so avoid fights.
