"...A double row revolving head breech with three dimples locks directly into the lower barrel..."

means a rotating bolt for the lower and a o/u style lock up (? A&D) for the top?

The shape of the receiver looks like that of a Blaser shotgun.So, they combined a pump-action rifle and a break barrel shotgun.Is that what it is? Very interesting though.

Amazing how people can think outside the box.... when the system makes the conditions ideal for innovation.

I always had this uneasy feeling that development in arms design had reached a plateau...I'm glad to be proven wrong.

Both barrels break open like a normal O/U to load the top barrel; whereas the lower is a slide action with removable magazine. No idea yet as to the locking system of the lower barrel.

A few years ago vikram and I visited a gun shop and saw a blaser bolt action double rifle and there was even a post about it. I think it was the first bolt action double rifle commercially available.

I had maintained that it was wrong as a concept because the purpose of a double rifle is to offer a quick second shot on dangerous game if the first one misses. So why have a bolt action if you have missed twice on a charging buff?

However this one makes up for the last ones shortcomings. Pump action is much faster than a bolt action particularly that bolt action (or so I presume). Interesting. Lets wait for reports from users.

I've seen one bolt action,magazine double rifle,made by Kreighoff if I remember correctly in a show room in Moscow.The odd part was that there's only one trigger and both the barrels fire at the same time,and the action of cocking the bolt ejects the spent cases in opposite directions!!Apparently its a custom made weapon for some whack job who wanted to be doubly sure when hunting the "Big 5" in Africa .I found it odd as it is chambered in 585 Nyatti(a cartridge known for its nasty kick)!!!I'll try to get the pictures of the weapon if I can.

Am not aware of Krieghoff, or Blaser, ever making a bolt action double. However a Hungarian designer living in the US had a proto-type. The idea here is the quick reloading of a repeater, combined with the advantages of a double. Anyhow, it never got into production. Seems to me, one of the Ferlach gunhouses offered it not too long ago. Or a very similar design.
A single trigger, preferred by many, would fire the barrels in succession, one for each pull. Never both at the same time. Especially in a caliber like .585 Nyati. Both barrels at the same time would put you on your back for sure, and leave you cross-eyed, with a hummer of a headache, and a bloody nose. Besides, you wouldn't hit what you aimed at.

Some of those oddities are one-of-a-kind exhibition pieces, too expensive and not really practical. Just to show what the maker is capable of building. And hoping that some millionaire will have to have it. And a couple of his buddies then will have to have it too.

Shooter, you're in luck! Blaser will build you that double, Model "Hamed", on order. Named after H.H. Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed al-Nahyan of Abu Dhabi. Thought that double had been a one-time-good-deal, and engineering exercise, but they are willing to build more. All you need is the money. (Plenty of it.) Naw, I wouldn't really want it. I appreciate a double's short o.a.l. too much to muck it up with a bolt action added to its breech. Cheers.

Part of the reason you can do this with a blaser is the action, which is quite unlike a normal bolt. Its more of a straight pull.

A bolt on a DR, whats the point ??? How in heavens name will it help ??
Its like having a carriage return lever (typewriter) on a computer keyboard.
