Hi Mandeep,

a .315 and .22 lr cannot be compared as both are leagues apart in terms of size, energy, range, application, cost etc. Depends on what you wish to use the rifle for.

A .315 is a centre fire cartridge that weighs 244 grains, travels at about 2040 feet per second. It is an out of service Austrian military round being used for civilian use in India. Costs a good bit more than a .22lr.

A .22lr is a rimfire cartridge that weighs a modest 40 grains, travels at 1,080 ft/s and generates 104 ft·lb. Effective range in good hands is about 100 yards.Good for plinking, target practice, small game hunting etc, etc. Costs less and very versatile.

Depends on what you expect your rifle to do for you.

Best-
Vikram
