Hi, I had recently got a Rifle License and was looking to buy a .22 IOF make rifle, when I checked out the prices with Bangalore arms dealers, they were demanding Rs. 38000/- when I asked them they explained that this is a new 2009 model with groves for mounting a scope and it has a walnut stock hence it is 38K. I would like to know if any of the member know of a new model launched in .22 IOF as the Ordinance Board web site dose not say anything about it. I would request any member if they can throw some light !

A walnut stock on the IOF .22 LR rifle??!! Some is trying to pull a fast one on you! The stock has been and continues to be made of the cheapest wood available and is manufactured by some nondescript charpoy (string cot) maker in Punjab for the IOFB. The scope dovetails have been on that model from the very outset, so that's nothing new - however, I do believe the IOF has recently upped the prices on all their products, them being a monopoly and all, no one to question their pricing logic etc...

similar prices in J&K as well.I also booked IOF .22 2009.Wood is not walnut but something which resembles walnut.Wood finish is awaful.Cheek pad is so out of context that on some rifles even sights cant be seen properly.
Being a true replice of BRNO,therefore easy to make walnut single stock as I did with my .315.
Price is fair.
