Custom AR-15 for Palin

Sarah Palin is to be honored by NRA with special custom built .50 cal AR-15 rifle. The rifle was apparently designed by Bob Reynolds of Templar Consulting and is chambered for the .50 Beowulf cartridge.



Of course American media is much like Indian media, in that they seem to be in a hurry to go to print without doing proper research The report published on the Daily News website contains the following gem:

The rifle is chambered in .50-caliber "Beowulf." It's the same caliber used by heavy machine guns

The reporter is clearly confusing it with the .50 BMG

Now, how about the NRAI presenting our President with a custom made teen sauh pandrah (IOF .315)...

NRAI are too self centered to be thinking about giving one to our Prez. But she did pose for a photo op with an AK/INSAS(?) in a military base on her very first visit to Jammu & Kashmir... I believe there was some murmur over the incident.

Official reaction was that the President did it as a moral booster for the armed personnel, she being the Supreme Commander of Indian Armed Forces.

.50 beowulf is not .50 bmg, Machine guns are not chambered for .50 beowulf usually.
