Can i buy a semi auto rifle eg ar 15,9mm gun in india

or a 9mm handgun eg glock?.
dhoni got a restricted gun so can i get it?what things would be reqd to get a eg 12gauge pump action shotgun,9mm glock semi auto,.ar 15.

my father works in the govt so if he applies to the home ministry for special license would the govt give him? and can he buy these guns in India and if not can i import them even i get a special license?


ALso can you give me egs of individuals having legal semi auto rifle,guns?

Depends on how high he is in the Govt but I don't know under what clause.
Might be easier if you joined the army , then you can even add ak's to your armoury.
Far as I know a civilian has a very Slim chance of owning a AR-15. A semi-auto .22 may be possible though.

I came across a .22 LR semi auto some time ago at a gun shop in Mumbai.Don't remember the make. It had a 8 round mag..the mag was under the barrel. You had to un screw this rod that slid out and feed the bullets in. The front stock also folded down to give you a 'machine gun' feel. I asked if getting a license for that would be possible and the shop owner said yes. On asking some other shop owners who I know well, the answer was a bit different ranging from no to maybe. I was interested in swapping my Brno model 2 for this but was advised against it as the Brno is a much better rifle.

I doubt you would find an AR in India.
If you are lucky enough to get a PB license a M1A1 Garand, M1 Carbine would be easier.

Thats it..it was a Mosberg. Old model though but I kind of liked the fold down stock. Will post some pics of my Brno soon.
