hi indian, 80k is a good price for a 7.92 ur uncle should think of going for a IOF 30.06 .As for trade with an imported mod i dont think so anyone will go for it for the prices are much more for a good condition rifle.

Let me get this straight...
a Mauser chambered for .30-06 in India sells for > 2.3 lakhs... Wow!
I dont know why your uncle is so hung up on that caliber.
Personally I would have kept the 7.92 and spent the 1.5L on ammunition. Even at 1000 a cartridge... that would be 15K cartridges... enough to last the rifle.

Indian - Is this Mauser a military model or an original Oberndorf sporting Mauser?
Military mausers were made by a number of countries, some are junk costing just a few 100 dollars in todays market and others command premium prices in thousands of dollars depending on model, country of make, year of production, rarity and condition.
Pricing a sporting Mauser is very tricky, even H&H, Purdey, Rigby & Jeffery used original Mauser oberndorf actions for their rifles costing 10's of thousands of dollars in todays market.
