Just heard that Winchester is resuming the production of the Model 70. I hope the new Mod 70's will be able to get a fan following similiar to the pre-64 Model 70, the original Riflemans Rifle. The winchester website shows only calibers upto 300 win mag, I sincerely hope they bring out rifles in the magnum actions as I would love to buy a super grade in 416 Rigby.
I am also very happy for all the gun lovers back home who are eagerly waiting for the 30-06 from the Indian Ordnance factory , till you folks get your hands on your 30-06 from OFI, I am posting a few photos of my pre-64 winchester Model 70 in 30-06 (1955 manufacture) for every one to enjoy. I love this rifle as it can consistently put 3 shots with in an inch @ 100 yards if I do my part. If OFI comes out with a rifle comparable to this or better I am sure they will have a winner.
