Oh God....what would a 577 do to the shoulders...suprisingly so many 577 DB Rifles were sold in India and was infact so popular with many ex rulers. You still occassionaly come across 577 DB Rifles .

I recognised the facility straight away.......and, as such, can make a pretty fair guess as to who the rifle belongs to.......especially when the lack of concern as to any damage to the rifle taken into account - you have to be seriously `loaded` to be that blase !
I`d like to point out that the rifle isn`t chambered for an `ordinary` .577 NE - or even a .577 REWA - but is actually a .577 T-Rex.........an absolutely insane calibre ! So don`t worry too much about shooting a .577 double - the recoil is `stiff` but nothing like as bad as that abomination !

Dear Nishant
I have a good experience with some of the heavy calibers rifles, I have literally plinked with the 500 NE, & the 470 & have fired a few shots from the 450/400, 375 H&H, all double rifles.
My late father had fired the 600 NE, 2 rounds on two different occasions but the same gun.
He said, the 600 NE recoil was a fraction more than the 500NE recoil.
I would like to classify the Recoil in 2 categories
a) JERK - rifles like the 375 H&H, 30 Super, 505 Gibbs, 458 & many American calibers have a sudden strong jerk (like being hit by a huge hammer) which is quite unpleasant at time. This strong jolt has caused neck & shoulder injuries on many shooters. If you are a green horn and weight about 60 Kgs I am sure any of the above rifles would fly off your hand or you could fall.
B) PUSH – Rifles 600NE 500NE 470 450/400 are very gentle rifles & are easy on the shoulder. They have a very strong push..
A little about my stance when firing the calibers;-
I weigh about a 100 kgs.; – so I got a + factor here!!
I shoot right handed so;
Left foot forward about 20”
Lean forward moving all body weight on the left foot toes.
Hold the rifle tightly against you leaning your right shoulder a wee bit ahead. & stiffen every muscle in your body.
Do not flinch – press the trigger when the sights align,
With such posture you would automatically absorb the recoil in the following 3 stages as described below.
a) The recoil would push your leaning shoulder backwards.
b) From leaning position you are automatically pushed back to straight position.
c) At this point you are to move the body weight from the front foot to the back foot which is at an angle.
d) All this takes about .25 of a second & it’s over.
The rifle will push you back from leaning position to straight position; this is when you have to move your body weight to the right foot which is at an angle.
& you are done.
You should take the tips from the clip itself.
Almost all the guys were not in the right stance; they flinched, did not have the body weight on the required foot, & were probably newbie’s
The last shot was taken by the instructor & he did a perfect job
After a long time we seem to have a man-lee thread
I sure expect a few words from Mundiare on the above!

WOW !!
I loved the video, the bolt of that .577 is massive too , understandably.
Thank you Shamsher for the guidelines about the "stance". However I feel that the cat in nm's avatar is having too much fun with that pump action without going into Shamsher's stance !!!!
cheers,
RP.

Dear Shahid
The 577 Reva, please share your thoughts about this rifle.
I believe HH Reva had shot about 14 tigers with this.
