Hi guys,
Since foreign manufacturers setting up shops in India is all the news, I tried finding out what all options we have. Stumbled across this site -> http://www.blaserindia.com/. They seem to be another Syndicate (Kiehberg) initiative, and have a distributorship agreement with Blaser. Only, their existence makes no sense. They say they are dedicated to renowned shots but the Blaser rifles aren't competition ware. In fact, they won't satisfy the NRAI import criteria, particularly since their rifles don't have target stocks, their barrels are usually 22-23 inches long and have magazines too. So, what gives? :?

Only for renowned shooters who have qualified in one of the big bore rifle events and may apply for a valid import permit.

I spoke with them to, got the same reply - i.e. only renowned shots need apply. But, I am curious. Are Blasers even competition rifles? The configurations they offer seem to put them in hunting/sporting rifle category. I am aware you can put the action in a target stock, but that option is missing from their configurator.
