I found a video of Larry Vickers putting the Stechkin through its paces.
Some good closeups and slow motion of the gun in action.
The only full auto handgun that I've ever shot was a Glock 18.
It was surprisingly controllable with the shoulder stock.
The Stechkin looks to be quite shootable.

I did find my Glock 18 video.
As you can see, it took me a little bit by surprise with the first burst.
I wasn't expecting such a high rate of fire.
Once I knew what to expect, it wasn't hard to control.

Of all the submachine guns that I have fired, the one I would like to own is the PapaSha (PPSh-41)
In WW2, the Soviets really had the submachine gun down pat. I'd take one of those over the Thompson, Sten, Grease Gun, MP38, UZI, etc.
I only wished that it wouldn't eject straight up. When under cover, with a low ceiling, the empties would hit the roof and bounce back on top of my head.
To be fair, this is a military weapon and this is not an issue if you are wearing a helmet or if you are outside.
