HI! I came across a very interesting link about the swedes testing rifles by putting a bullet about 4"up the barrel and then firing a shot thru it! here is a link and some excerpts from the test .

The test is done here in Sweden by the R&D department of defence. They wanted to test some of the most commonly used rifles for the moose hunt started this year.
Remingtons comment was that the test was not realistic and I am willing to agree some.
The bbl got a bullet pushed in 4" in to the bbl before the round was shoot if I remember correctly. Snow and dirt would not have the same effect but of cause it is depending on the situation.
