Yabrar: I suspect you mean "point of aim", not accuracy. There is no way, except sheer luck, to change the front sight and not have to adjust through trial and error to bring the shot back to the point of aim. The front sight must be moved in the opposite direction of where, relative to your aim, the pellet struck. If after changing the sight the pellet strikes to the right of your aiming point, the sight has to be moved to the left. If low, the rear sight must be raised. Needless to say, it is essential to adjust sights from a solid rest, not free-hand.

Accuracy is a rifle's intrinsic quality to shoot small groups, whether it shoots to the sights or not.

Thankyou for pointing that out TwoRivers as it`s something that is so often misunderstood.
Something related that people often don`t appreciate concerns the accuracy of double rifles ..... and it has to be said that manufacturers specs often don`t help: When double rifle manufacturers quote accuracy figures they are, almost always, referring to the grouping between the two barrels. Each barrel individually might shoot 1 MOA groups but barrel to barrel groups will invariably be larger. The best figure ever quoted is for the Fabarm Asper O/U double which is guaranteed to shoot within 50 mm ( 2 inches ) at 100 metres BARREL TO BARREL using the recommended ammunition.

thanks guys for response. But what i wanted to know how to change or modify front sight (muzzle sight, if term is right) of Indian ordinance .22.
you know .22 rifle which used to come 10-15 years back had very different sight from one which comes now. A friend of mine has that old ordinance .22 and it has sights like brno .22.

Presumably, like most front sights, it is drifted in from the side. To remove it you`ll need to knock it out using a hammer and a punch. Why do you want to remove the foresight anyway ? It`ll take quite some time to set up a replacement foresight and will require range time, a rifle rest and a good deal of ammunition.

Very interesting. I did not even know a metric like that existed!
