Hi,
I was just wondering how you people store your firearms? I do not have the pleasure of owning a firearm, but an uncle who does, stores all of his in a locked room with the ammunition kept in a safe in another room. What about you? Do you keep them in safes (or is it saves?
) or in a store or do you wield them about with you everywhere?

friend,
if you are having a firearm stored in a shelf and ammunition in nother then it won't serve the purpose in emergency.
so keep it close but safe.

Pretty much the same followed by me. The arms are secured in another locations.

Not quite true. Not all firearms are designed for immediate defense use. It would neither be prudent to keep a firearm fully loaded under your pillow nor your bedside table. That is inviting trouble. OT, I once read that a big(get the hint?
) matinee idol in Bombay felt insecure, so he kept a loaded revolver under his pillow while he slept. I thought, what a jerk! That piece of metal would have given him more sleepless nights that probable intruders
Some firearms like sidearms or shotguns may be kept at a secure but quickly accessible space with the ammo nearby. It also depends how the weapon in configured for defensive tactics.

My rifle and ammo are kept in different locations too. The rifle in a more accessible but locked place place since I do a lot of dry practice at home. The ammo is kept behind multiple locks . With prices going up at the rate they are I am considering getting a locker in a bank for it.

I keep the ammo and gun in locked shelf. However I made necessary arrangement and placement of the gun to be used in less than 45 seconds (I dont have kids around home and the gun is accessible to me and dad only).
Last week my next door neighbor's house was robbed at 1230am. As the parents were sleeping inside and their 2 teen girls in other room,.. robbers have locked the parents room and tried to kills the kids, after packing their baggage- mobiles, tv, some cash etc. When the girl screamed they left the house.
Thief's used the stick in the compound to unlock the door
(looks like taali ek hath se nai bajhti).
Well after this incident I was shocked. And immediate weekend I went to see my parents and also cleaned my rifle as it was long pending for 2 months. And made the necessary arrangement to respond any such emergency situation.
