while browsing through you tube i happened to see this rifle dated 1888 and fires the .577/450 Martini-Henry black powder cartridge.Actually the rifle was not the thing which cause interest in me to know more about this model, its history with our country (2.58/13.54 timer in video).
There are some markings in Hindi.Can anybody shed some light on this.

There was an article in an earlier issue of Gun Digest on "The Lost Guns of Nepal" which inter alia dealt with the history of Martini Henry rifles in Nepal. It mentioned that such rifles bear inscriptions in Devanagari script. I will try to locate the article and post relevant extracts here.
