IFG member,British Columbia Shooting Champion,Hunter and friend was in Doon for a three day trip.
One of the most important part of the trip was to 'improve' on my (recently perchased) IOF 30-06.
I had gone through the 30-06 post here and after much thought, had decided to part with my old Remington .22 and go in for the Desi product.
Mundaire had suggested I become a member of the local Rifle club and apply for another Rifle licence, but, I was informed by an arms dealer that for the past one year no new licences had been issued.
I was in no mood to fight out for my 4th licence and opted for the easy way out.
Katana had sworn by the new IOF 30-06 ....provided I made a few basic changes in it.
Safarigent had taken on the administration for his RBKA and picked up his own IOF 30-06.
Sanjay was more than happy with his IOF 30-06 modified by a famous gun maker in Panjab.
Now it was my turn.

International Contribution.
Apart from the people mentioned above I would like to thank xl target for selecting the scope bases for my rifle.
and
BALJIT for gifting the scope,the recoil pad and bipod apart from all the other accessories (which I shall talk about later).
and putting them up to finally make this lovely Indo-Canadian IOF 30-06.

A good recoil pad would also be required. Its a light rifle and kicks!
The ordinance provided recoil pad is not even worth giving to a friend!

Exactly.
That's the first thing we did.
The "ordinance recoil pad" went into the dust bin
and was replaced by this one. It was a little oversized and had to be cut and polished with a rotary belt to give the final shape.

Ahem!
We need to see the whole gun ...... or are you going to torture us by showing us one little piece at a time.?

Congratulations Prashant! I just bought one myself a week back and looking to work on it. Do share details of what all enhancements you make including parts and model numbers for accessories.

I have a great time with Prashant in Doon . Here I like to add few more Range pictures in this post.

Here after we mounting the scope on his 3006 rifle, we went to the range for zeroing his scope,in bottom two pictures when i am zeroing his 3006 rifle.


After zeroing the scope I am standing with Prashant and Corbett99.As you guy's can see the smile on Prashant face because he fire the last round and he is very happy with this setup.


Here in this picture i am trying to shoot Prashant SxS 12Bore.

Here in this picture Prashant trying his SxS 12Bore, also in this picture you guy's can see the shotgun is in full recoil.

Ofcourse I am happy with it Baljit.
The last three shots were taken by Baljit,Corbett99 and I. All three hit the Bull's Eye. Now I have to try it out at 200 and 300yards respectively. Will let you know the range report subsequently.

Exactly what I was thinking that time.
You will be surprised Vikram but those chicken didn't move one bit. . With all the shot gun, .32 pistol and .22 firing at the range. They've all (probably) gone deaf by now.

Reminds me of the fantastic time I had in Delhi. Arjun took me to the Karni Singh Shooting Range the other day. He emptied out a few boxes in my jacket and asked me to try my hand at Skeet. It was a truly enjoyable evening inspite of the fact that I did not hit (my clays) much.
The closing time is 5 p.m. and Arjun told me that the Neelgai would be out soon. Sure enough. Within 15 minutes. While we were still packing up a female Neelgai with her twin calfs came walking in.
