Sharing some pictures of a little .22. Every time I handle this rifle it takes me back in time 25 years when I learned to shoot with a beautiful Brno .22 very much like this one in Belgaum Karnataka.

The tangent rear sight had to be removed to mount the scope. One of these days I will get a smaller scope which will allow me to mount the scope with the rear sight in place.

Vassili - It is not that India cannot design a nice sporting rifle, there is no motivation or incentive. IOF has no competition either from the local market or from abroad as imports are not allowed. A good sporting .22 may be the last thing on their priority list, people have to buy whatever they make as it is a sellers market.

If India can build its own super computer and missiles capable of delivering nuclear warheads it sure can design a nice sporting rifle. They just don't feel the need, they have a functional .22 rifle and see no reason to improve.

You cant go wrong with a CZ 452, one of the best looking and well made rim fires available. .17 HMR is a nice flat shooting round if you want to shoot long range but unlike the .22 lr the ammo is expensive. Shooting past 100 yards on a windy day could be a challenge as the bullets are so light. Herb

It looks like you won the wood lottery on that CZ MTR.
What rings did you use?

So how does she shoot?
Any particular ammo she likes better than others?
Can you post some targets.

Apart from what Herb correctly said, if you shoot small game for the pot, the .17HMR is not really ideal as the bruising and picking the splinters/shrapnel make it not worth your while. Unless one takes head shots only.

Shooter has a lovely CZ in .17HMR. Shoots great and a lot of fun plinking. You know just that sharp little bark to tell you that it packs a bit more pace.
