Dear all,

I bought ihp national model 35 in 5.5mm 6 months back.

For the first three months i had no problems but recently the wood as started to crack near the handle. Dont know if its for the room temperature or the way we store it ( we store it in cardboard box )

It was handled very carefully and we practice every weekends.

Now we fear the wood will break into pieces.

Please suggest me a way to restore it, Or can we get the wood replaced. Kindly suggest few Gunsmiths in Bangalore

Thanks in Advance

Harish

Hi Harish,

> If you still have the bill of sale you can contact Mr. Makhija, Factory Manager of IHP and talk to him.

One reason for wood around the handle cracking in a break barrel is vigorous closing of the breech. The old FWBs were notorious for it.

One solution is to run a screw within the grip, to secure both edges of the crack.

However, if you have only recently purchased the IHP, it should have some warranty for defects.
