sorry i am new here , but i would like to know the name/model of rifle used in 3 Idiots movie by javed jafri.

if this is air rifle then i would like to buy, its looking good and a function to add ammunition in that rifle (by right side) is awesome.

Underlever winchester , rifles are available sometimes ammo is a problem unless u lay ur hands on a .22lr.

, i love those under levers, but sure the one in the gun was not a airgun as he pushed a bullet through the reloading slot.

See my profile pic onto the right side of the post... those are winchesters... how ever i have a winchester .22 rifle right now.. i mean my dad has one. i still dont have a license to own one.

It was most probably a Winchester Model 1894, 30-30 rifle . If you see JJ loading the rifle, the ammo looks like 30-30 Win.

The Doc is right... its a 30-30 underlever winchester... the cowboy gun used on horsebacks....

The gun looks as if it is a Model 94 Winchester. However, I've got it paused right at the point where the real Ranchoddas Shamaldas is loading the gun, and I am sure that he is not really loading it. The glint of brass can be seen beyond his fingers as he supposedly pushes the round in the magazine, but I don't believe that he's actually loading something. He doesn't appear to have anything like a .30-30 round in his hand. What ever it is that he has, it isn't long enough for a .30-30 round.

The bore appears to be large enough when he points the rifle. But the wood of the stock and the fore end and the finish of the receiver seen when he's loading the rifle doesn't quite look right -- it looks almost fake to me.

The best I can say is that the rifle looks like a Model 94 Winchester, but I won't say it actually is or isn't the real thing.

Something I do notice in that scene: The real Ranchoddas cocks the rifle as Silencer Ramalingam takes off for the window, and one no longer sees the tang of the hammer after Ranchoddas cocks the rifle, which is correct. But when the camera shifts behind the real Ranchoddas, the hammer is no longer cocked. This is a very common error in many movies with many types of guns.

I don't blame the producers for using a fake weapon in the movie........... with all the strict Gun Laws in our country. It is common to see fake guns and rifles being used in even the Big Budget movies. This one was at least a decent looking "fake".

Agreed! I very much enjoyed 3 Idiots, and so did my Wife. I generally find that any Aamir Khan movie is enjoyable, which is why I went out of my way to see this one. I wasn't disappointed! Zoobi Doobi!
