Is there a spare magazine for a IOF .22 rifle available in the market/ IOF outlet Chandigarh. If so then for how much? Also is there a smaller capacity (5-6 bullets) magazine available for IOF .22 rifle?

HI Doc,

Spare magazines for 22 IOF Rifles must be available in the market. They are 10 shot and are supplied by the factory I think @ Rs.1600/- or so.
Try the dealers in ur area or may be write to the Factory at the following address .....The General Manager, Rifle Factory, Ichapur, Nawabganj, Ishapore, Dist: 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
The guys at the factory normally reply back to written letters ...calling wont really help...and please don"t email to them.....

You might want to contact these folks in Amritsar,I believe they manufacture replacement magazines.No idea rgds qualty as have never used them,but the Col running the outfit is well informed and a good person to speak with.

ASK THE DEALER. ONCE I HAD PLANNED TO BUY A SECOND ONE SO THAT I CAN MAKE A 5 SHOT . WHICH THE DEALER SAID HE WOULD SUPPLY BUT HE SAID THE COST WILL BE 6000.

Incase u are ready to buy one for Rs 6000/- Plz do contact me,As 4 years back i bought an IOF .22,By mistake i kept it in my room without locking my room.One of my cousine in not mentally well.He took out the bolt and threw it in the river near to my place.on asking the reason he told -u will shoot with it so i threw the bolt.Since then it is lying uselessly withme(deposited in a friends shop)
So i think its better to get back my money in this manner.OR if any one could arrange a bolt for it in cheap price.(I am also ready to sell the rifle)

Any idea what is the price of a .22 IOF rifle ? A frend who wanted to buy one was quoted 25900/- (including VAT)by a dealer in Delhi .

As we all know, the factory rate is much cheaper than that , the dealer price might vary. The rate this dealer in Delhi is quoting sounds reasonable though I bought mine much cheaper a few years back. Another thing with the "wonderful" IOF .22 rifle is that NO two rifles are similar !!!!!!! I mean there is a lot of difference in the finish If one observes carefully. Please make sure that your friend has a choice to select from a few "pieces".

The price according to a advertisement dated 30.09.05---Rs. 18,700/-per rifle for individuals(Rs. 24,471/-includind duties and taxes). For Dealers----Rs. 17,000/-per rifle. Recently i called up the factory and was told that the price has increased to Rs.26,126 because of increase in duties and taxes and there is 7-8 months waiting period for delivery.

Recently a dealer told me that the IOF is offering a spare magazine for .22 Rifle as was the case with the .32 IOF Pistol.

Spare mags are available but with metro city dealers mostly. Yes they do command that kind of a price of 6,000 to 7,000 Indian rupees.
