Boris

Nice find ..wish IOF designers can see this...BTW do the IOF chaps shoot their guns at a range to test. Would love to see that routine I bet its the chowkidar or peon who has the honors to risk their life, limb or eyes while the cats watch from afar..or may be they do the tractor tire shooting trick and pull the trigger with rope..sorry for the OT

The DSR is indeed quite the weapon, I have been lucky enough to have shot one. Would absolutely love to have one, but at 15K Euros I dont think so.

even if someone in the US would like to buy it and he could, wont it be a problem given the 1997 ATF ban of weapons made in russia, ukraine, moldova, krygzstan, kazakhstan not to be imported on US soil.

Boris:
There are a few DSR's for sale in the US but change hands for well over 50K. It is the same for some other guns, like the AMT and full autos.
I do believe that guns from EE are imported into the US, however there are a few laws around a number of parts that need to be american origin or something like that.

That law requiring a certain number of US made parts applies to the Kalashnikov, and similar weapons, not in general. Russian-made sporting arms, albeit in small numbers, are still coming in. Surplus Mosin-Nagants are also, both from Russia and Ukraine.

Am no expert on US laws and legislation. Should have pointed that out in my original post. Do envy the prices compared to Europe though. you could get a Mosin for under $100 while they change hands around here for about 400 Euros.

There are places outside the US where one can build up good collections.

Unfortunately India is not part of that club
