Went to the range a few weeks back with the .45/70 trying a new load with 400 grain semi clad bullets.
One in the chamber.. pull the trigger. Click..
Unload.. no mark on the primer.
Tried another cartridge same thing.
Removed the block.. and checked the firing pin was broken.
Now this not being the US, firing pins are difficult to come by. So asked a friend in the US to order me some. Got them recently.. and tomorrow I change the firing pins.
Pics to follow in the morning.

Very tempting MoA, I handled an octogonal barrled 45-70 with a looong barrel and a tang sight some months ago.Great balance for such a long piece.Went and had a cold bath instead.
Dashed tempting...lets see if that 'another' 45 (in a shortened 458!) happens
Whats the mystery of the broken pin?

Naga: It isnt a handbag. Only the camera case.
Eljeffe: No mystery. Its a known design flaw in the Armi Sport guns. Currently have three spare pins if it decides to break another.
