How about 6 seconds..
Yes that is how long your barrel remains 'accurate' for.
The basis of this is a simple assumption, that a hunting rifle can shoot 3000 rounds before requiring a change, ( a number of calibers will start loosing accuracy at a much earlier round count), assuming a bullet on an average takes about 0.002 seconds to exit the barrel that is a massive 6 seconds of active life.
I never actually thought of it this way. My .22-250 will last all of 3 seconds

greater tomorrow !!!
sacrifice today and get it tomorrow, he he he ... it twinkles ... well, I can consider that, but can you give any guaranties
.
more seriously, it is exactly a question, what I'm asking my self everyday 3 times at least, where this country is heading, for me picture is quite clear, get as many guns as you can today and you may no need to sacrifice tomorrow.

Ah yes,the time honoured Indian way of holding up the rifle to the light and looking down the barrel. If it is shinny it is good.
