Got my 30-06 last week..pulled off a few rounds at 50 yards...shooting just fine.
planning to mount a scope soon. once i'm done with that, will upload grouping on target sheets shot at 100yards..

Congratulations on the new acquisition. So how are you planning on giving her a face lift?

On a side note could anyone educate me on the muzzle of the weapon, it looks like it steps down to about half the diameter of the rest of the barrel? Whats the story behind it?

IOF is raw but still,,,a Nice gun .....but can the barrel handle the heat of the big .30-06 big bullet, firing 3 shots set? how much did u get it for ?

the front sights in this rifle are removable. its has been removed and a permanent custom made sights ha been fitted. i had bought the rifle like this, although its a new one, a customer had booked the rifle and made these changes..but for some reason he did not buy it! this was the only rifle available in the south. i had no choice but to pick this one up.
Has anyone done this with your sights before?

The rifle is meant to fire this caliber, so why this apprehension.

i dont think it can handle a heavy grain bullet firing one after another at a short period.
you have to give it a 1min break after firing even a 150grain. or it shoots all over the place

If you ever remove the stock, I would be very interested in a photo of the receiver and the stock attachment method.

It looks like the forward part is shaped to guide the cartridge up into the breech.

Hey Arjun, could you post a picture of the extractor and the bolt face? And maybe a picture of the breech, looking up through the magazine well?

Did you experience this or were you told this? Seems to be taking on the status of an 'urban legend' right up there with aluminium bolt for the .315 rifle and bolt handle for the 30-06

BTW the accuracy would depend a great deal upon the bedding of the fore-end.Look into the functional aspect of things before bothering about aesthetics.
