dear members
today i got the permission for a rifle as my third additional weapon and now im very confused as im having no knowledge regarding the availability or prices of different caliber rifles available in the market other than iof products.i dont want to buy a .22 caliber rifle as im a member of NRAI and according to arms act i can have a .22 rifle as my forth weapon so im having a advantage of buying it later,i chalked off .315 as we have .30-06 in market.my budget is between 1-2lk.can i get a decent imported rifle in that budget.but frankly speaking my heart is for 30-06 iof as we can have it in brand new condition.(showroom cars smells good) im willing to participate in all india big bore shooting competition with that gun.i request all senior learned members to help me with their priceless suggetions.i know we have already discussed this kind of matters earlier under many headings but it will be very kind if someone give fresh suggestions instead of directing me to earlier posts.thanks in advance.take care.

If you plan to go for Big bore shooting, get an IOF 30-06. You can get the same within 1-1.2 lakhs. And with the balance amount, you can get whatever changes made onto the 30-06. Check out the thread by z375 on the same.

In that budget i think IOF 30-06 is the best deal, you can spend the rest on get it customized by good gunsmith, mount a scope.

thanks m24 and ali. i too think 30-06 is a better bet.and ali its clearly stated in the arms act that a member of NRAI is eligible for a forth weapon but it has to be a .22 rifle and no other weapon.take care
