This incredibly gorgeous rifle was built by French gunmaker Dorleac & Dorleac who celebrate their 25th anniversary in September.

The rifle is Dorleac's Heeren Stutzen model. It uses the 19th century Nagel and Menz action that has been strengthened for modern cartridges. It is chambered in 6.5x57R, a cartridge that is comparable to the .260 Remington. The engraving and inlays by done by Michel Courant in an Art Deco style with gold in different colors. The wood is select English walnut.

The rifle will be sold in September.

Don't know how they would have strengthened that Heeren action, as it always has been an incredibly strong action. Modern steels would make it stronger, but better steels is a given these days in any case. But, I guess, old designs have to be "suitably strengthened", at least in the advertising and brochures.

Hello from France,
Joël Dorleac is a good Friend of mine and he is probably one of finest expert on Mauser K98 system as well.
He is currently reconditioning my Westley Richards 318 and his achievement is as good as company like Hartmann & Weiss, etc...
He is fascinated by Original MAUSER action he consider much better than those used by best English, except for Rigby who was smart enough, as Mauser Rep. for England at that time, to subcontract his K98 production in Germany.
Have alook on his website and check a wonderfull Jeffery in 333.
