Re: Modifying an IOF 30-06
This looks like just the thing if one is forced to carry concealed when hunting leopards or tigers. One never knows when one might encounter a leopard or tiger when in the movie theater, or when out with a date for a nice meal in an upscale restaurant.
I would recommend a laser sight for when one is in the movie theater. Perhaps, along with a bottle opener, GPS locator, and lug nut wrench for changing tires, this stock comes with a laser sight, too.
I expect that the person suggesting this abomination has a great deal of experience with it, too.

Modifying the IOF 30-06 sights
The IOF 30-06 comes with a pair of functionally excellent sights. They are adjustable and can be quite useful to a shooter who knows how to use them
Unfortunately, they don't look rather appealing , especially the front sight hood.
I wanted to improve this in a manner which still retains the basic foundations of these sights.

Rear sight is the Running Boar unit procured from New England Custom Guns in USA.
Its a small unit that is sent in an envelope.
This was mounted on two dove tail units which are mounted on the existing rear sight base

On this is mounted a dovetailed plate which can move up or down the ramp with locking screw, and having another dovetail at 90 degrees to accomodate the rear sight

The small screw on the Rear Sight allows lateral movement for windage adjustment and the locking screw on the dovetail unit allows for the elevation adjustment

The existing front sight hood was replaced by a smaller more streamlined hood which swivels.
The existing front sight was replaced by New England Custom Guns Patridge Sight
