Ebenezer: Curious and curiouser. That pretty much leaves the shape of the bullet as the culprit, and single-loading as the cure, if everything else has been ruled out, and only the K-F misbehaves. Cheers

Thanks a lot Two Rivers! And the dealer had given me some old stuff of Eley cartridges that after firing I could clearly see the bullet travel out of the barrel for a distance and dropping on the ground like a pellet fired from a weak springer airgun
