Hi Gopal (Georgian21),
Sorry, this is by no means a part of the thread, but I could not desist from asking the question. Are you a Georgian meaning old boy of Bangalore Military School previously known as King George's Military School, Hosur Rd BLR? The reason I am asking is that I am an old boy and we call ourselves GEORGIANS, couldn't help it my lasers went on as soon as I saw your screen name.
No offence intended Gopal - just checking!

The photos are real heavy.. will work on them to make them light weight soon.
from the pictures it looks like a 360 rook rifle, it is one of the miniture actions that were made in england before ww1.
i am sad to say that the ammunition is not produced anymore, and it is quite a chore to make them oneself.
still a nice rifle though.
best regards
peter

Most definitely NOT a rook rifle. However, the actual cartridge it is chambered for is still an open question. It should have information as to the load it is proofed for somewhere on the barrel, which might give a clue. A chamber cast would certainly narrow down what cartridge it is chambered for.

I migth be mistaken, but if you look at the crosssection on the action, i would guess that it is about 40 mm wide at the most, compare it to the safety in sice, further more look at the size of the rear sight compared to the barrel crosssection, this is a tiny rifle, which is quite cute actually.
If i am right, the chamber cast will show a straight walled chamber the size of a 38 special case, what i would like is a few pictures of the watertabel and one of the breech end of the barrels, that will tell me a lot more about the gun.
best regards
peter

Peter: Without having the rifle in hand, and seeing it's dimensions, hard to tell from a photo, as well as seeing it's bolting, I cannot be totally sure, either. But the overall look and features are not those of a rook rifle. It is a hunting rifle in style. My guess would be that it is chambered for the little straight-cased .360 Express. But, without chamber cast and the bore slugged, we are all only guessing.
