SAM,

Saw your video. Appreciate the fact that you have bought Indian for the simple reason that the so-called 'imports' now command ridiculous prices. I noticed that all four of your shooters were pretty slow with reloading the firearm. I presume the bolt action may not be too smooth. Do let me know what you feel, as I'm about to purchase the same rifle.

Regards,

slow in reloading?

reason being it was first time they used it. not familiar with the rifle.
happens to every highly trained professional who have not used or handled a firearm.

Thanks marksman :!: will certainly keep you pointers in mind henceforth :!:
marksman wrote:Congrats Guys on your proud possession. I saw a guy shoot his way to silver in open rifle category with the same rifle in the Big Bore Nationals this year. I don't think you should ever worry about it's accuracy. How ever shooting at a living tree may not go well with the environmentalists. It bothered me a bit as well. Secondly, I suggest that keeping the bolt open would be a preferred method for general safety then banking on the safety catch with a loaded chamber.
Happy shooting !!!

Thanks winnie_the_pooh :!: appreciate it :!:
winnie_the_pooh wrote:SAM,

Thanks for posting this.I am sure you cleaned the rifle of any oil in the chamber before firing it.

Engaging the safety every time you load the rifle is a very bad habit.

The enthusiasm of the lady is heartening. She seems to be handling the recoil better than others. She needs to work on her posture though(as do others).

Learn to load from the shoulder.

Happy shooting.

Thank you Vikram :!: next time will surely take care not to shoot at a living tree :!: However the back stop was a small hill behind the target so no worries.

Hearty congratulations on your proud acquisition.Looks great and it was a pleasure watching such an enthusiastic group having fun.The young lady was not at all taken by recoil.

I was wondering if I should post this,Marksman did that for me. . But, please do not mind me for saying this. Please do not shoot at a living tree- the tree may die and if the mark is missed, the bullet may travel far and can harm other living beings which may not be able to see. Always a good idea to shoot targets on grounds with reasonable back stop.

Have fun and keep posting your experience with the rifle.

SAM,

Have a look at this. You should however keep in mind that the way it says to align the foresight relative to the target is for the Lee Enfield and might not work in your case.

Katana,I highly recommend that you go ahead and purchase it soon, its a good rifle for that price ! and the bolt action is pretty smooth as it should be.According to me this is the best rifle yet from the indian stable :!:

Thanks ngrewal :!: Yes the lady loves guns :!: about the stock I am quite content with it except for the swivel screw which is screwed at the wrong place that is right in the middle of the forearm part of the stock which at times causes some distraction,I would have appreciated if it was screwed right at the front of the forearm stock like the sauer 202,apart from this trivial issue there's nothing else to complain about, all in all its worth every bit of penny :!:

depends on the maker, my rifle maker says that use five shots over five days, clean after each shot.

well i meant the "classical" method.
some rifle experts say the newer modern rifles being produced thses days dont need to be broken in.
